In October of 2019, we hosted our first A Day of Courage in Roslyn Village, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participating retailers donated 20% of sales for that day and offered a very generous “gift with purchase”. Some restaurants participated by donating a portion of sales to Go With Courage customers, parking was suspended, and the clock tower was lit up in pink.
In 2020, despite the global pandemic, we moved forward with a COVID-SAFE Second Annual A Day of Courage on October 23rd. It had an outdoor component, wherever possible, including a Go With Courage tent set up in the parking lot adjacent to Delicacies, for us to sell raffles and auction off some special items. With very few restaurants on board, we offered “Boxes of Courage” to go from Roslyn Social, for lunch and dinner and included a COMPLIMENTARY bottle of Notorious Pink Rose wine for orders of $50 and over. Roslyn Social killed it in its upstairs outdoor deck/patio and everyone had an amazing day. Participating retailers had incredibly successful sales days.
Since then…we have ditched the outside tent (too challenging) and, instead, worked from the JoJo Anavim Art Gallery and for the last 2 years, out of the Tina Demel Boutique. Every year different restaurants sign on – with Felice taking the lead.
We hope to continue this tradition as long as Go With Courage is in the fight. We are so grateful to our supporters for showing up year after year to purchase raffles and shop as much as they can on this day.
2025 details to be announced…
